Spring Interval Training

It's spring break and school nurses everywhere are kicking up our heels.  This school nurse has a spring bucket list which includes creative endeavors, cleaning and books. This is my plan-creative project followed by a cleaning chore, then a little reading, repeat...  Thanks to all of my paper piecing friends for your inspiration!  I made my first paper pieced block ever this a.m., a paper airplane!  Ok, something creative done, what next?!  I can't seem to remember!  Checking the Spring Bucket list for loopholes!  Jessica Pearl

Flying Geese

This is one of 2 quilt tops that I completed at our guild retreat.  Our Emily was on a mission trip to Guatemala at the time so she is in every prayer filled stitch.  Of course, until the end when my rows were not aligned and I took to cursing rather like a sailor.  Thanks to gal pal and retreat roomie, Gay K for helping me to straighten their flight!  As Mother used to proclaim at misbehavings, "Straighten up and fly right!". Stash Enhanced and a Zing of Bling

From the Quilted Skein an irrestible indigo and a modern color block.  This store is located next to the Texas Quilt Museum which is one amazing bit of inspiration!  I wish that I could go every 4 months as the exhibit changes,  quilty awesomeness!

Social from Houston

Great fun in Houston!  Museums, art, Houston Rockets, dining and shopping.  Yesterday I visited my favorite store, Anthropologie.  Scored this jacket on thrifty clearance and even more inspiration!  Seeing lots of indigo!  Spied this denim jacket that was not in my limited budget but I am thinking I might try to sew something like it with recycled denim and a bleach pen!  Shannon is coming in today.   I see quilt shops and thrift stores ahead!  Social From Houston!  Jessica Pearl

Friday Finish after Thrifty Thursday

Thrifty Thursday yielded this linen dress and jacket from the dollar rack.  I added vintage buttons to the sleeves for a Friday finish!  Packing this new outfit in my bag for Houston.  Tomorrow we fly away!  Jessica Pearl

Escape

Our Guild's annual quilt retreat with guest teacher Marti Michell at Camp Weed.  We have a tropical isles theme despite the cold rain.  Lots of friends making exploding pineapple blocks but geese are flying off of my Singer featherweight!  Sewing in paradise!  Jessica Pearl

This apron is made from Simplicity 5201 and coveted Denyse Schmidt fabric.  And I have to say, I do love this apron, coming and going!  I am already dreaming of sewing a second one in linen!  Speaking of coming and going, it is time to go to work!  Thought I would 'bee social' on my way out the door!
