Heartfelt
Two weeks ago, my Mother, daughter and Aunt Ann retreated to cabin on the Suwannee River for the weekend. We took a painting class with Janet Moses in her studio and painted heart shaped grapevine wreaths. I made us art smocks from thrifted men's shirts which we wore backwards all day long. I didn't think much about it until the next day, my Mother put her shirt on backwards! Oops! We are all back to normal life and mostly wearing shirts as is acceptable in current culture. It is so good to spend time with women I love and admire and buck the status quo! Wonderful memories made! Happy Valentines Day! Jessica Pearl

ReplyDeleteWhat sweet heartfelt memories! Such a great project too! Will you be hanging your window inside somewhere or will it hang outside on a porch maybe? Always love your thrifty ideas!

ReplyDeleteJessica, every moment of the Suwanee River weekend was a delight! I smile every time I think of it. I say we make a getaway an annual event. In the meantime, I intend to put my smock to work in other creative endeavors. Inspired by you, Aunt Ann
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you can spend time with the "gals" of your family. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall, watching as the 4 of you spent this wonderful time together!!
